Provided software and hardware-near engineering for high-end research optical microscope systems.
Developed a Windows SDK for communication with and control of stepper-motor controllers, giving host applications a stable interface for positioning microscope components. Also architected a Windows GUI for controlling optical components in a unit that modified a laser light source.
Further work included restructuring inherited driver and communication software, hardware debugging and modification, and adapting the system for the specific requirements of a downstream customer.
